Dolly Parton and Miley Ring in New Year With Moving ‘I Will Always Love You’ Duet: THIS YEAR’S VERSION of NBC’s celebrity-packed special Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party was a marked improvement over last year’s Pete Davidson co-hosted edition.
Gone were Jack Harlow and some questionable comedy bits — save one laugh-free sketch from SNL’s Please Don’t Destroy — and in their stead: Dolly Parton, America’s Sweetheart (and Miley’s godmother).
“I tell ya, this is the thrill of my life, to get to host the show with Miley,” offered Dolly. “We know how much I’ve loved her since she was a lil’ ol’ bitty thing. Now she’s a big ol’ thing, and I still love her. I will always love you.”

But the finest performance of the night came from Miley and Dolly, who sang a towering medley of Miley’s “Wrecking Ball” and Dolly’s “I Will Always Love You” just before the clock struck midnight.

Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton kicked off Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party with an epic Joan Jett and the Blackhearts‘ cover on Saturday, December 31.
The pop superstar and country music icon took a break from their co-hosting duties to perform a rockin’ cover of Joan Jett and the Blackhearts’ classic tune, “I Love Rock ‘N Roll.”
Donning all black and leopard ensembles, Cyrus and Parton strutted onto the stage as they belted out the lyrics to the iconic rock hit before ringing in the New Year together.

The performance comes just weeks after Parton was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
Parton recently revealed plans to release a rock album in 2023 titled Rock Star, a project that will feature covers of iconic rock songs such as “Free Bird,” “Satisfaction,” and “Purple Rain,” as well as new original songs, including “Rockin’,” which Parton performed during her Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction.

My husband is a big hard rock ‘n’ roll fan, and for years I thought, “One of these days I’d like to do an album mainly just for him, just to kind of do it.” When I got nominated, I thought, “Why not just go ahead and do it while the iron’s hot? Maybe have some of the greats, the legends of rock ‘n’ roll sing along with me.”
Additionally, Cyrus performed several other times throughout the star-studded broadcast. She performed alongside FLETCHER, Paris Hilton, Sia, David Byrne, Rae Sremmurd, and more during the show. Read more
