The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday’s drawing reached a huge $740 million, sparking excitement among regular and new players alike. The winning numbers were announced just after 11 p.m. ET on Friday, and we have the results below. The jackpot grew close to three-quarters of a billion dollars after no one won the big prize in Tuesday’s drawing.

“$740 million?! That’s enough to buy a lot of fancy clothes for myself and even spoil my mom with something nice,” wrote Stephanie White on X (formerly Twitter).
“Holy moly!” wrote user @robinsondie9871. “I’ve got my lucky numbers ready! Maybe this time, I’ll win and buy myself a new house with a pool.”
If someone wins Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot, they could take home an estimated lump sum of $371.6 million after taxes. If no one wins, the jackpot could rise to over $800 million by Tuesday.
Only two people have won the Mega Millions jackpot this year: One player in New Jersey took home $1.13 billion in March, and another player in Illinois won $552 million in June. Could you or your office pool be next?

How to Play Mega Millions
To play, you need to buy a ticket at a convenience store, gas station, or grocery store. In some states, you can also buy tickets online.
Pick six numbers: five white balls numbered 1 to 70 and one gold Mega Ball numbered 1 to 25. If you prefer not to pick your own numbers, ask for a “Quick Pick,” and the computer will choose for you.
